- Vampire for Hire by J.R. Rain
Vampire for Hire by J.R. Rain
This series is quick to read, full of supernatural creatures and it has some heart. It’s quirky and fun. The story follows Samantha Moon, who was an FBI agent, wife and mother. Now she is working for herself as a private investigator and trying to be as normal a mom as she can be. I think that’s what makes this series stand out. A recently turned vampire raising two kiddos while discovering the world is a scarier place than she thought. It can be outlandish at times but there are plenty of unique adventures that keep it interesting.
The dead are everywhere. Most are buried and forgotten. A very small number walk among you.
J.R. Rain, Moon Dance
Moon Dance, book 1

Six years ago federal agent Samantha Moon was the perfect wife and mother, your typical soccer mom with the minivan and suburban home. Then the unthinkable happens, an attack that changes her life forever. And forever is a very long time for a vampire.
Now working the night shift as a private investigator, Samantha is hired by Kingsley Fulcrum to investigate the murder attempt on his life, a horrific scene captured on live TV and seen around the country. But as the case unfolds, Samantha discovers Kingsley isn’t exactly what he appears to be; after all, there’s a reason why he survived five shots to the head…
