Top 10 Vampire Book Series – Part 4
I wrote an Intro to why I love Vampires, you can find that here.
Top 10 Vampire Book Series List:

- Vampire Files by P.N. Elrod
- Undead (Queen Betsy) by MaryJanice Davidson
- Vampire for Hire by J.R. Rain
Undead Series by MaryJanice Davidson
My love for Queen Betsy began with a short story found in Cravings. It reminded me a lot of Sookie Stackhouse, only the up north version. I’m very glad I picked up this series from a native Minnesota author.
The stories follow Betsy, a shoe obsessed total Minnesotan cities girl. She lives in the Twin Cities so the settings take place in Minneapolis and St. Paul as well as the various suburbs. It’s always fun to read something based on a place where you have lived and know pretty well.
The humor style also reminded me a lot of Drop Dead Gorgeous, a beauty pageant spoof movie. Throw in the whole vampire aspect and it was a super cool, hilariously funny and just a fun kick ass series.
I trudged around on the muddy river bottom for half an hour, patiently waiting to drown, before giving up and slogging my way back to shore.
MaryJanice Davidson, Undead and Unwed
Undead and Unwed, book 1

First Betsy Taylor loses her job, then she’s killed in a car accident. But what really bites is that she can’t seem to stay dead. And now her new friends have the ridiculous idea that Betsy is the prophesied vampire queen, and they want her help in overthrowing the most obnoxious power-hungry vampire in five centuries.
Have you read this book? What did you think?
