Living With the Dead by Jesse Petersen
Once or twice a year I look this author up trying to discover where she disappeared to or what happened to make her stop releasing books. This series was so much fun! It’s hard to classify as just a zombie series – it’s comedic and centers around a married couple who would probably have divorced if the zombie apocalypse hadn’t just occurred.
At the time of its first release, there really wasn’t anything like it in the zombie genre (comedic love story with vampires and witches – yes, zombies not so much). I think that’s why I enjoyed it so much, whereas the typical zombie fans were rating it poorly. I urge you to dive in and just enjoy it for what it is. And if anyone knows what happened to the author, please let me know!

Book 1: Married with Zombies – The Couple Who Slays Together, Stays Together
Meet Sarah and David.
Once upon a time they met and fell in love. But now they’re on the verge of divorce and going to couples’ counseling. On a routine trip to their counselor, they notice a few odd things — the lack of cars on the highway, the missing security guard, and the fact that their counselor, Dr. Kelly, is ripping out her previous client’s throat.
Meet the Zombies.
Now, Sarah and David are fighting for survival in the middle of the zombie apocalypse. But, just because there are zombies, doesn’t mean your other problems go away. If the zombies don’t eat their brains, they might just kill each other.
Book 2: Flip this Zombie
Book 2.5: Shambling with the Stars (short story)
Book 3: Eat Slay Love
Book 4: The Zombie Whisperer
This can no longer be found on Amazon – however, I have a Kindle copy and my be able to borrow it out somehow. Let me know π
Book 5: In the Dead (shorts in the same universe)
