Wednesday Night Check-In

photo of thunderstorm

A thunderstorm is rolling in 🥰. We need a good storm around here to clear out the heat and water the ground. You can always tell when a plant is native to Minnesota – the weather around here can be 30 degrees one day and 70 the next so our plants are built sturdy. But weeks without rain and extreme heat do take it’s toll on even the hardy perennials. I miss my giant garden and harvest but even I, a natural lover of warmth and humidity, would have avoided being outdoors to tend it. I’ll be dancing in the rain shortly! Hope my headphones are waterproof 🤣.

Off topic – If anyone has actually used the drag and drop feature successfully on WordPress… please let me know. I used drag and drop all the time on Weebly and LOVED it. This sad excuse for drag and drop here is seriously lacking some skills. You can drag and drop widgets in the widgets sections, but isn’t WordPress mainly for blogging? You should be able to drag and drop inside a post. Grrr.

Gaming

During my musical/music movie marathon I’ve been working on creating my own graphics for my Twitch stream and videos. You’ll get to see those tomorrow (I’ve got 5 clips scheduled to post over the next couple weeks -I’m feeling very accomplished because I usually only do 1 to 2 at a time 😊) or you can check them out now in my playlist on YouTube.

Borderlands 3 – I’m super excited about the Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands announcement. Thankfully it’s scheduled for release early next year which means I still have time to try to get all of my B3 trophies 🤣. How hard is it to get a “Perfect Score” in target practice? I’ve only tried it about 150 times 😭.

Zombie Army 4 – I am loving this game. Shooting zombies is one of my favorite things to do. And now that I’m getting used to the gameplay and weapons it’s going pretty well. I don’t care for how herky jerky my character runs but that’s a minor thing.

Got to play with some new peoples on Sunday, which was fun but also a smidge frustrating at times because I’m not currently using my mic so communicating is hard. I completely ran out of ammo and got swarmed by a gang of brain eaters at one point and there was a kill spot we had to lure zombies to to activate a fountain and everyone kept killing them before they reached the circle 🥴….oh well, it was late and we did get past it eventually.

Reading

Slowly getting through a few books this week. Nothing spectacular 😑

Movies & TV

I’ve watched or rewatched almost 15 movies since last Wednesday. That’s a lot 🙄. I took a break from that tonight 🤪.

A nice surprise that I missed when it released was The Greatest Showman. I love circus history and this was such a beautifully done movie. I’ve visited Circus World a couple times and to see the coaches, props and posters in person is a special experience. To see some of that history come to life on screen was sweet! If you want a unique and interesting vacation destination – consider https://www.circusworldbaraboo.org/

I also just finished Utopia on Amazon Prime – holy crap was that something! Never a dull moment that’s for sure 😂. I think I loved it, but I’m disturbed about loving it. It takes old and new conspiracy ideas and mashes them into a crazy ride. It was awesome in a strange horrible way.

June Movie List:
Movin N Groovin (view current list on IMDB (there’s a lot I need to add yet). Got a movie that I should watch?  Send me a message.

IRL

It’s official, July 2nd is the closing date on the new house! July 3rd we’ll have more room, air conditioning, a fenced in yard for the critters (and maybe a chicken or 2) and hopefully it won’t take too long to get everything out of storage and sorted. 3 WEEKS!! And we will be out of purgatory!!

Thanks for reading this if you made it this far 😘.

xoxo
